One of the legends recounts that Budva was founded by Cadmus the Phoenician, a hero exiled out of Thebes, Greece, finding a shelter in this place for him and his wife, Harmonia.
With over 35 alluring beaches (8 of them marked with blue flags) and very popular among youth for its nightlife, the city is increasingly turning into the most attractive tourist destination in Montenegro. The beaches are clean, so that you can swim in its waters or take a stroll along the shores. Among other activities that can be done are walkings by, meeting locals and their culture, and try traditional cuisine in a warm and welcoming ambience.
